What you will do: - Operate and maintain instruments, such as, the Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP OES), C&N combustion analyzer, Spectrophotometers, and other pertinent instrumentation - Perform all quality assurance tests and procedures in a precise, accurate and efficient manner, and follows safety standards and protocols with regards to safe handling of materials - Perform maintenance on lab equipment, as well as, troubleshoots lab equipment to spot problems - Confer with scientists to conduct analyses of samples from various research projects - Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties and composition of various Actagro/-Nutrien products and other samples - Validate and verify results through calibration and standardization - Develop new relevant methodologies or improve existing methods that best fit the research needs - Compile and interpret test results or confer with scientists regarding data generated from the laboratory - Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation to identify problems and facilitate repair by external companies if necessary - Develop and implement laboratory safety procedures - Provide insightful observation as work progresses, critical analysis and preliminary interpretation of data of experiments - Report on research verbally to large and small groups comprised of various individuals from both inside and outside the company - Write technical papers, reports, standard operating procedures and specifications for various analytical procedure, instrument operations and maintenance - Perform research tasks and activities in the lab and in greenhouse as necessary What you will bring: - Bachelor of Science in Analytical Chemistry, Soil Science, Agronomy or related field - 4+ years of analytical lab experience including operation and troubleshooting of essential lab equipment such as ICP, combustion analyzers, spectrometers, conductivity meters, and other important lab instruments - Functional and technical proficiency on areas of plant nutrition, field research methods or other agriculture - Functional and technical proficiency on areas of plant nutrition, field research methods or other agriculture practices - Working general knowledge of greenhouse and agricultural field operations - Prefer working knowledge of common agricultural crops, experimental methods of sampling for soil, plant and other analysis. - Must be able to operate delicate laboratory instrumentation for analytical work. - Must be able to troubleshoot of essential lab equipment including ICP, combustion analyzers, spectrometers, and other important lab instruments.   Are you a good match? As a member of the site leadership team in a manufacturing environment, the Safety Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and improvement of the plant safety programs.  This includes ensuring that employees comply with the programs and that safety performance results are tracked and reported to plant and Corporate Management.   What you'll do: - Accountable for safety program compliance with all applicable plant, Corporate and regulatory policies and procedures - Accountable for Emergency Response functions, roles and responsibilities in accordance with the site emergency response plan - Establish Safety Key Performance Indicators for the facility and develop programs to achieve them - Support management/supervision to ensure all site employees understand and comply with all applicable regulatory, plant and Corporate Safety policies and procedures - Responsible for compliance with all aspects of the Safety regulations as well as consulting with management/engineering on Process Safety Management (PSM) at the facility - Lead and maintains an integrated safety management system from Corporate Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines - Interact with the Director of EHS and Security, Regional EHS and Security Manager, Plant Manager and other site managers - Manage, improve and report on company hazard recognition program and risk mitigation programs such as Near Miss Reporting, W.H.A.T. Card, and Job Task Observation - Ensure that site personnel are adequately trained with respect to applicable safety matters - Coordinate internal audits as required to ensure the safety management system is being adequately followed by both management and the work force. Leads the plant in preparing for and compliance with all Corporate Safety Audit requirements - Lead communication on learnings from internal and/or external incident investigations and ensures integration of new learnings. - Chair the Safety Committee - Responsible for all safety-related permit programs such as confined space, hot work, elevated work and line breaking - Promote a team relationship within the site operations team - Coordinate plant IH monitoring What you'll bring: - Must be Bilingual (English and Spanish) - BS in Safety or Industrial Hygiene, or 5-years related experience in Safety Management in a chemical and / or fertilizer manufacturing environment - Knowledge of OSHA, including PSM, and State safety regulations, standards and permit requirements - Strong leadership, managerial, technical, interpersonal and communication skills - Excellent written and oral communications skills - Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization - The ability to operate a computer, specifically the MS Office suite of programs, Cad programs, ESS Compliance Suite - ASP or CSP certification preferred - Good manual dexterity - Able to climb stairs and ladders - Must be physically and medically capable of wearing a respirator - Good speech, vision and hearing - Able to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs - Able to work in an office environment - Able to work in a cold, hot, dusty, humid and noisy chemical manufacturing environment while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) Are you a good match? Reporting to the Division Manager, this position is responsible for supporting the Division Management teams objectives of Nutrien Ag Solutions products and services.   What you will do: - Prepares, edits and formats various confidential documents including briefing materials, strategic planning reports, budgets, agreements, presentations and material related to collective bargaining. - Manages, develops and implements administrative processes related to customer account management, accounts payable and general administrative duties, including but not limited to AFE and property files - Assist the Management Team with Divisional budget administration and preparation. - Assist the Management Team with the Divisional administration of company policies and procedures, including Human Resource policies. - Coordinate process administration of all new hire/re-hire paperwork and partner with Human Resources in all human resource management for the Region. - Assist Management with the preparation of divisional business strategies, including those related to collective bargaining. - Responsible for training of Customer Service Reps within the assigned Division. - Supervise office activities to achieve optimum utilization of equipment and employees. - Assist with processes and customer sales questions. - May oversee inventory controls. - Ensures timely and accurate dispatching and scheduling of truck shipments. Ensures unload information is received in a timely manner from carriers including tracking the unloads daily. - Develops and maintains a variety of logistics activity tools and reports mechanisms. The summer term contract may be extended depending on business needs.   Located in Edmonton, AB and reporting to the local Agronomist and research technicians, you will be involved with the establishment, maintenance and harvest of canola, wheat and barley research plots.   What you will do: - Field seed bed preparations and flagging of sites - Seed cleaning, seed treatment and set-up of seeding envelopes - Establishing and maintaining small plot field trials - Set up and operation of field equipment - Operating small plot field equipment such as tractors, seeders, sprayers and tillage tools - Driving a truck and trailer to move equipment between sites - Application of in-crop herbicides and fungicides - Taking accurate and precise agronomic notes - Operating a small plot combine or swather - Fall land preparation, including application of herbicides and fertilizer - Equipment calibration and maintenance - Assisting technicians, agronomists and plant breeders with other duties as required - Some travel and out of town work may be required What you will bring: - Punctual, reliable and able to work outdoors - A high level of attention to detail resulting in consistent outcomes - Proven problem solving and critical thinking abilities in team and individual settings - Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills - A valid Class 5 driver’s license - Small plot field trial experience and/or agricultural or farm experience is an asset but not required - Mechanical aptitude with farm machinery is an asset but not required - Currently enrolled in or finished an undergraduate degree program in Agriculture or a related natural science   Are you a good match?
