     Job Summary:

    The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting and documenting daily laboratory operations. In addition to providing routine quality assurance testing, you will be responsible for documenting product formulation validations, conducting experimental protocols, and supporting Sales and Marketing analytical inquiries, while working a 5x8 base schedule. The ability to problem solve and critically think are exceptionally important in this role, as is good attendance.

    Key Tasks include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensure lab operations meet or exceed all requirements associated with company Environmental Health & Safety policies, as well as, EPA, OSHA, and other regulating bodies.
    • Perform lab operations within defined procedures and requirements.
    • Ensures the maintenance and/or adherence of equipment to meet and sustain generally accepted good laboratory practices.
    • Evaluate new and alternative raw materials for functionality and stability.
    • Assist in verifications studies, as required.
    • Participate in process improvement and product investigations.
    • Conducts experimental studies intended to provide supporting data or to resolve technical issues.
    • Assists in resolving technical issues and assists in the completion of investigations that affect site quality performance.
    • Documents test results, specifications, and final data retention to standard formats.
    • Provides technical and analytical support to guide formulators, assistants and technicians in daily work performance.
    • Proposes and recommends processes and procedures designed to increase efficiency, safety, or quality.
    • Work closely with Manufacturing, providing technical support to deliver process improvements.

    Qualifications: 

    • High school education required; Associate’s degree preferred.
    • Background or knowledge of chemistry and lab procedures, desired.
    • Computer competency – in particular, Microsoft excel desired.
    • Stronger than average math skills.
    • Excellent team player.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Works well independently and in a team context.
    • Excellent time management and organization skills.
    • Computer and internet media skills knowledge.
