    The newly created Digital Solutions team at Nutrien is responsible for creating a best in class digital experience for employees and customers. This is the team that ideates, executes, and delivers technology for Nutrien’s retail business unit. The team will partner with business leaders and traditional IT to build cloud, API, web and mobile solutions that power a $12 billion agriculture retailer. We are expanding our cloud platform to enhance omni-channel capabilities, optimize mobile and tablet experiences, and support the digital experience of our customers and our salesforce

    Travel: Little to no travel


    Job Description: 

    Full stack developers will have a range of responsibilities from shaping and implementing strategic products to ensuring that client stays on the leading edge of technology. Full stack developers contribute across the technology stack, from database and DevOps infrastructure that supports continuous deployment, to application development. 


    Key Tasks:

    • Designs the overall technological architecture of the product
    • Mentors and coaches the technical team, specifically with code reviews and pair programming
    • Engages in coding to help the team to develop the solution and solve all surfacing problems at hand. Identifies and removes technical impediments
    • Works with Product Owner to align the roadmap with strengths and opportunities within the technical stack
    • Constantly looks for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo
    • Provides the team a roadmap for implementing agile software engineering practices for higher code quality
    • Shares responsibility with Product Owner for building reusable and scalable components


    • 5+ years of software development experience
    • Seen as an expert within the technical components of the domains/products/journeys
    • Can make architecture decisions at a team and product level
    • Experience working on projects that span multiple organizations and business units
    • Experience in Agile Development (XP, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery), with specific Solution Architect (or similar) experience preferred
    • Strong communication experience with ability align organization on complex technical decisions
    • Active coach and mentor whose goal is to grow and maximize the team’s potential
    • Experiences with code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous deployment, highly scalable applications, application security
    • Required technical experience: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, REST APIs, Ruby-on-Rails or Node.js, GitHub
    • Preferred technical experience: BDD, TDD
    • Nice to have technical experience: Jira, React, AWS (Elastic Beanstalk)
