    Position Summary:

    A key member of a fast paced and highly active Fertilizer Procurement team with responsibility for developing/maintaining supplier relationships, market analysis, business strategy, and leadership execution for fertilizer procurement.  This position is based in Loveland, CO.

     

    Key Tasks:

    • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategy with suppliers and regions/divisions.
    • Develop and maintain productive business relationships with US and international fertilizer producers/distributors
    • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes and financial risk.
    • Maintain understanding of domestic and global market supply options and pricing trends
    • Regular communication with internal general managers regarding market fundamentals, pricing, outlooks, and purchase recommendations
    • Negotiate and manage vendor performance programs.
    • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategy with suppliers and regions/divisions.
    • Attend and present fertilizer market outlook at regional sales meeting and budgets.
    • Manage weekly supply/demand forecast for each division.
    • Work with Operational Accounting to track program payments and allocate payments to the regions/divisions.
    • Participate in industry conferences.
    • Work with AP department to maximize cash flow
    • Review supplier contracts with legal department
    • Work with regional/divisional managers to identify new market opportunities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • BS in ag- business, business, or other relative degrees
    • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, financial, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multi-task
    • Interact professionally with both external and internal business partners
    • Travel requirements 15-25%
