    Position Summary:

    The primary responsibility of the Demand Planner will be to ensure the continuity of supply of finished goods for all assigned LPI products to Crop Production Services. This person will interact with LPI manufacturing facilities, third party product suppliers, product management, and Customer Service in the management of the day to day supply chain of LPI products.

    Key Tasks:

    • Review customer/demand requirements, analyze supply situation and provide demand & supply status to Customer Service and management.
    • Lead the field forecasting process to determine demand for LPI products utilizing approved software
    • Communicate demand to assigned plants and 3rd Party Suppliers
    • Place purchase orders as required with 3rd Party Suppliers
    • Collaborate with manufacturing facility personnel to develop a Master Production Schedule (MPS)
    • Monitor demand exceptions and take corrective action
    • Keep up-to-date on issues relating to early order programs and new product introductions
    • Load and maintain MPS into Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) for assigned products if required
    • Serve as primary point of contact for Production Schedulers at LPI Plants
    • Assist in resolving supply and demand issues between suppliers and LPI Customer Service
    • Update BPCS (Available to Promise) and/or order fulfillment on product availability
    • Lead assigned segment in the monthly S&OP process/meeting
    • Plan and execute the procurement and delivery of designated materials, packaging, and labels to LPI and/or toll manufacturing facilities
    • Determine purchasing priorities and economic order quantities
    • Populate and maintain assigned purchasing/vendor information within BPCS
    • Assist Accounts Payable and Account Receivable in resolving variances
    • Routinely interact with IT on system and process improvements
    • Work to increase inventory turns where possible
    • Other duties as assigned

    Skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business, Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain, or
    • Associates degree in related field plus 2 years’ experience in planning, scheduling or purchasing preferably in the agricultural industry

    Qualifications:

    • Positive, sales focused, attitude.
    • Team player that works well with others
    • Highly motivated, organized, self-starter with strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
    • Experience using BPCS computer software a plus
    • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP concepts
    • Proficiency with spreadsheets, functional databases and enterprise wide software applications
    • Solid understanding of supply chain concepts and processes
    • Strong time management skills
