Position Summary:

 

This person will be responsible for providing technical service and sales support to CPS Divisions in the Northern Plains geography of the U.S, as well as product development activities for Loveland Products. The job will focus on identifying sales support, research needs and developing technical selling tools and training.  These responsibilities will be focused on efforts to support the marketing direction and product development of Loveland Products, Inc. 

 

Key Tasks:

 

  • Provide technical information and selling support
  • Coordinate field demonstration and research trials
  • Participate in and present at CPS Division sales meetings in the Northern Plains region
  • Evaluate new potential products and/or proprietary formulations
  • Train LPI Proprietary Product Managers and CPS personnel to effectively deliver technical information to the customer
  • Assist marketing personnel with informational needs and technical decisions
  • Develop technical selling tools for use by LPI Proprietary Product Managers and CPS personnel
  • Interface with key centers of influence including commodity groups, University personnel and Independent Crop Consultants
  • Assist in documentation and investigation of customer complaints, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Good attendance required

Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Required: B.S. degree in agronomy, plant pathology, entomology or weed science (Advanced degrees preferred) Masters, PhD
  • Minimum 8 years experience in the agricultural industry with field research or tech service background
  • Technical knowledge, field research and data management skills
  • Proven understanding of sales support needs and ability to develop technical selling tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence
  • Proven ability to develop and retain business relationships
  • Certification through ARCPACS encouraged
  • Active participation in one or more professional Ag organizations encouraged
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (estimated to be 40% to 50%)
  • This successful incumbent will have working relationships with CPS Division personnel, Loveland Products marketing personnel and LPI Proprietary Product Managers. External relationships are very important and will include customers, University personnel and technical groups, as appropriate.
