Nutrien’s Retail Digital Organization operates like a start-up within the world’s leading multinational crop input distributor and fertilizer wholesaler. This mandate is exciting as we are creating a market-leading integrated agriculture experience for our 3000 crop consultants and 500,000 growers across the US and Canada (and extending to Australia and Brazil). Our product teams are small, flexible and use agile and lean methods to quickly provide internal salesforce and grower customers with innovative digital offerings. We combine the latest technologies with customer-centric design to consistently deliver exciting online and on-board innovations for Nutrien’s customer base
The Vice President, Digital will have the mandate of the Nutrien CEO and the Nutrien Retail President to lead the cultural and technical transformation of Nutrien Retail into the digital era. This senior leadership role will be an important driver of the digital organization’s future success.
Owning the digital vision, digital strategy and execution of the digital roadmap
Mapping digital capabilities to strategic priorities and translating ideas into execution
Serving as executive sponsor for digital innovation and “agile” cultural transformation
Developing the strategy and specific partnership plans for 3rd party partnerships across Nutrien’s digital platform, including digital agronomy partners and external platforms (e.g., CRM systems), in addition to relationships across the industry (e.g., other input players, equipment manufacturers, etc.)
Attracting, building, and retaining a team of top talent, reaching >100 professionals, including developers, designers, product managers, and field implementation staff
Maintaining a balance between business and technology and connecting digital investments to enterprise KPIs
The exhilaration of building out the digital space for a world class organization and ultimately redefining the industry as we know it today.
Putting your stamp on and redefining how the industry accesses data, information and makes critical business decisions.
Building your career and surpassing your potential in an ever-evolving agricultural industry and technical space.
A solid academic background and/or deep experience in digital product development in B2B/B2C context
Successful track record leading large digital organizations, ideally within leading agriculture, retail, or industrial contexts
Experience implementing "Best Practice" approaches in digital strategy and transformation
Expertise in managing the complexity of a “corporate role”, from developing strategic frameworks through to delivering innovative ideas and offerings
Proven experience in developing new creative concepts from discovery through to implementation
Demonstrated effectiveness in leading change within a decentralized organization resulting in support and field adoption
Successful track record working in complex international business areas
Well-networked in the digital community in North America
