CPS is seeking a Technician (level III) to join our Research and Development team at our Calgary Research Warehouse located at 10639 Barlow Trail SE Calgary. As a Tech III, you will work closely with the Research Agronomist to successfully conduct experimental trials predominately in canola but also including other crops such as wheat, barley.

Your knowledge of and experience in small plot research will help you to excel in this position as you will be responsible for assisting in establishing, maintaining and harvesting research trials. Your leadership skills will allow you to effectively train seasonal staff while following all safety procedures and practices.


  • Preparation of seed samples, planting, spraying, maintenance and harvesting of research trials, data collection, operating field equipment, transport of equipment with truck and trailer
  • Administrative duties for location safety, vehicle and location accounts
  • Some travel will be required


  • Attention to detail
  • Safety-oriented
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team 


  • Post-secondary Agricultural education and related experience
  • Farming background an asset but not necessary
  • Valid driver’s license
