Key Tasks:

  • Responsible for inspecting farmers’ fields and records weed, insect, disease and other observations (including monitoring traps), tissue and soil sampling
  • Field scouting services offered, by making timely informed and economical field crop decisions

 Skills:

  • Above average organizational skills, ability to understand new concepts and learn quickly, complete work targets with little or no supervision in a timely manner, self-motivated

 Qualifications:

  • Sophomore, Junior, Senior pursuing a BS in Plant Science, Crop & Soil Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, Botany
  • General knowledge of Williamette Valley crop and weeds is helpful but not required
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Applicants must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time under all weather conditions
