    Job Summary:

    The Packaging Line Operator is an excellent opportunity to learn the skills required in a manufacturing plant. Let us train and develop you, while you work a 4x10 base schedule. The ability to problem solve and critically think are exceptionally important in this role, as is good attendance.

    • 4x10 base schedule with opportunity for overtime (up to a 5x10 or 6x10 schedule for winter/spring season based on production requirements)

    Key Tasks include, but are not limited to:

     

    Packaging:

    • Proficient in all equipment, machines, and processes on Packaging lines; ensures equipment and machinery are operating properly and at production standards
    • Coordinate with maintenance
    • Understands Production Goals and Expectations
    • Understands and completes Operator PM’s (preventative maintenance)
    • Proficient in machine set-up/change overs and start-ups
    • Limits waste - including raw material, finished goods, rework, parts, chemicals, supplies, and downtime
    • Demonstrates a Sense of Urgency when production lines are not producing, while ensuring Safety and Quality are not jeopardized
    • Completes shop order paperwork and accurately accounts for inventory used

    Safety Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the proper use of machines and equipment to prevent accidents and damage
    • Understands and follows all Safety Policies and Procedures
    • Always wears the proper PPE for the task at hand following posted PPE requirements
    • All Materials are Labeled and are placed in their right locations
    • Maintains a clean and safe work area 

    Quality Responsibilities:

    • Monitors quality throughout the process; communicates with QA when needed
    • Ensures DPR (Defective Product/Raw Material Report) are complete and accurate
    • Ensures correct coding of Bottles and Boxes; ensures boxes are square, free of defects, and taped correctly and have the correct quantity of bottles
    • Ensures bottles are free of spills, and are filled to the correct weight and level
    • Ensures Labeler, Capper, Sealer, and Quality checking machines are set up correctly and running as per requirements

    Qualifications: 

    • Manufacturing/packaging experience is preferred but not required
    • Forklift certification preferred but not required
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Ability to work in a drug free work environment - required to pass the Drug & Alcohol Testing
    • Ability to work in a Safety-First manufacturing facility required
    • Ability to work in a sustained fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • Self-motivated, ability to work with or without direct supervision

    Physical Requirements:

    • Physically and medically capable of wearing a respirator
    • Ability to lift at least 50 # frequently during shift
    • Able to climb stairs and ladders
    • Ability to stoop and bend frequently
    • Good manual dexterity, vision, & hearing  
    • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
    • Capable of working in varying temperatures
